In Santander, on the 5th of May, on our last outing with the group of mothers and their children, we visited The Magdalena Palace.
To make things easier for small children we went in the train wich the little ones really enjoyed.
On our arrival to the Palace, a guide gave us a tour of the building and explained the history and connections of the Spanish Royal Family with the city of Santander.
The group of Mother and Children enjoyed the visit to one of the most well known places in our city.

The piloting of the course for mothers started successfully in Italy in February 2015 with the cooperation of “Le Rondini” an association of social promotion.
The participants are 10 young women coming from several country: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Bangladesh.
Participants are attending two lesson per week, each of 2 hours.
During the first lesson of the week the learning activities are carried out with the use of laptops: in this way the participants, while learning grammar or vocabulary contents, can become more familiar with basic software and functions, such as Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, Google Maps, etc…
The activities that involve the children are usually based on movement and/or on music, as these are good techniques to ensure that the kids are amused and the mothers learn by acting, by giving instructions and by carrying out tasks.
The participants are happy to have this learning opportunity in an innovative course that involve their children as well and that contribute to create a relaxed and positive atmosphere. Thanks to the different place of origin, Italian is the only language used among the group and that, according to the trainers, is the best way to learn quickly and effectively.
The learners have established a good relationship of solidarity among them, thanks to the fact that they have many common experiences and that they meet similar difficulties in their everyday life. The common attendance of the course created a community that is suitable to be maintained even after the end of the lessons.
Last Friday 20th February, immigrant mothers from different countries (Senegal, China, Morocco…) were introduced to L2M Project at “José Arce Bodega” Public School in Santander (Spain).
We explained them the project and how the training is going to be organized in the upcoming months. Mothers found it very helpful and were very interested in participating.
